The Mendip Nomad
Welcome to my blog. My name is Tom Osborne, and while I've lived in many places, and don't live there now, I call the Mendip Hills of Somerset home. Hence the title of this blog and my blogging pseudonym elsewhere. I'm also a Presbyter (often called a Minister) in the Methodist Church but the views you'll find here are all my own (unless I specifically say so). Please do feel free to comment if you so wish, you certainly don't have to agree with me, all I ask is that you keep it civilised.

The end of the World as we know it
So tonight the more than 200 employees of a very well-known publication are working on putting their final edition together, after 160 years in print, before being left unemployed. In the midst of political and media commentary and speculation regarding … Continue reading
My name is…
…not Slim Shady! As mentioned yesterday, I have been engaging over the past couple of days with folk about the Methodist Conference via the wonderful medium of Twitter. My thoughts yesterday clearly had a resonance with others, and one of … Continue reading

Getting connected with #methconf
So, I’ve spent today in Cambridge. Meanwhile Methodist Conference is happening in Southport. These might seem like quite separate statements but they’re actually linked. You see, while I have been sat in my study trying to tidy an academic year’s … Continue reading
